SEIKO Exceline White Dial Two-Tone Quartz 1983

The Seiko Exceline line represented the brand's ladies' dress watch offering through the 1980s, pairing quartz precision with a jewelry-like presence on the wrist. This 1983 example is distinguished by its crisp white dial and Roman numeral chapter ring, rendered with unusual clarity for a watch of its era.

The two-tone case takes an octagonal cushion form, its gold-tone bezel meeting a stainless steel body and caseback at faceted corners. Measuring 20.9mm excluding the crown and 27.5mm from lug to lug, the proportions favor a compact, jewelry-scaled presence rather than a display of size.

The dial is finished in white, framed by a printed rail-track chapter ring that separates a full set of black Roman numerals from the recessed center. Slender gold-tone hands cross the dial in quiet contrast, with the Exceline script signed just below center and the SEIKO QUARTZ wordmark above.

Powered by Seiko's Caliber 7320 quartz movement, the watch carries hours and minutes alone, dispensing with a seconds hand to keep the dial uncluttered. The caliber was built for Seiko's Exceline and Dolce lines through the 1980s, prized for its reliability and slim profile.

Completing the watch is a black leather strap with a gold-tone pin buckle, carefully matched to complement the case and preserve its classic aesthetic (not original to the watch). It measures 13.2mm at the lugs and fits a wrist of up to 16cm.
