The early 1980s saw SEIKO turn its quartz expertise toward the dress watch, producing slim, quietly formal pieces held to the same standards as its sports models. This example is distinguished by a cushion-shaped gold-tone case paired with a deep black dial, a combination that reads far more formal than its modest dimensions suggest.

The case measures 27.5mm across excluding the crown and 35mm from lug to lug, a compact footprint that sits close to the wrist. Faceted flanks and a chamfered bezel catch the light along the edges, while the brushed stainless steel back carries the SEIKO markings and reference. Nothing is added beyond what the shape itself provides, which allows the dial to take center stage.

The dial is black and matte, its depth broken only by applied gold baton markers at each hour.
