The Omega De Ville became an independent collection in 1967, developing into one of the brand’s principal expressions of elegant dress-watch design. During the 1970s, the collection embraced increasingly varied case shapes, reflecting the decade’s move beyond traditional round watches.
This example is defined by its softly curved tonneau-shaped case, giving the watch a distinctly architectural yet elegant profile. The Roman numeral dial introduces a classical counterpoint to the modern case geometry, while slender hands and a restrained layout preserve the refined character associated with the De Ville name.
The contrast between the sculptural case and traditional Roman numerals gives the watch its particular charm—modern in form, yet classical in detail.
