THREE MONTH WARRANTY
Within the warranty period (three month), if any malfunction or need for adjustment arises in the movement (internal components) of the watch under normal use, we will repair or adjust it free of charge under this warranty.
The piece presented here dates to around 1950 and features the Caliber 1560, a movement that would become the basis for the later 1560 series. This rare Breitling example showcases the distinctive Bidynator rotor system. Even details such as the arrow marking for rotor removal remain visible. The L-shaped click construction delivers an impressive 44-hour power reserve.
Encased in a 35mm solid 18k gold case weighing approximately 48 grams, the watch has a substantial presence on the wrist. The thick bezel, engraved with a 12-hour scale, adds a bold yet refined character. Appearing to be in near non-polished condition with minimal signs of wear, this piece embodies the quiet confidence and enduring appeal of a true vintage classic.
HISTORY
In 1942, Carl Friedrich Meyer developed an automatic winding system different from that of Rolex. In 1947, he patented a bidirectional self-winding mechanism capable of winding the mainspring in both directions—at a time when unidirectional systems were the standard. Rolex’s bidirectional Cal. 1030 would not appear until 1950, making Meyer’s development effectively the first of its kind. This mechanism later became known as the legendary “Bidynator.”
Founded in 1918, Felsa established itself as a manufacturer of watch movements, and under Meyer’s leadership, the company gained worldwide recognition. As part of the A. Schild group, Felsa played a significant role in laying the foundation for modern automatic movements within Ebauches SA.
