SEIKO Sportsman “Golden Patina Dial” 1968

A beautifully aged Seiko Sportsman from the late 1960s, distinguished by a dial that has developed a warm golden patina over more than half a century.

The dial is the defining feature of this piece. Years of natural aging have given its surface a rich, warm character, creating subtle variations in tone that cannot be reproduced by a modern finish. Applied hour markers and slender hands preserve the clean, functional layout typical of Seiko’s mid-century watches, while the aged surface brings an individuality unique to this example.

The Sportsman belonged to Seiko’s practical mechanical watch offerings of the period, combining straightforward construction with restrained styling intended for everyday use.
