半世紀を超える歳月によって生まれた、温かみのある「Golden Patina Dial」が印象的な1968年のSEIKO Sportsman。
最大の魅力は、長い年月を経て独特のゴールドトーンへと変化した文字盤です。均一な新品の仕上げとは異なり、経年による繊細な濃淡や色調の変化が文字盤に奥行きを与え、この個体だけの表情を生み出しています。
立体的なインデックスと細身の針による文字盤構成はシンプルで実用的。コンパクトなケースと無駄を抑えたデザインには、1960年代の国産時計ならではの端正なプロポーションが感じられます。
ムーブメントにはSEIKO 6602系の手巻きを搭載。毎日リューズからゼンマイを巻き上げるという機械式時計本来の所作も、この年代のヴィンテージウォッチを所有する楽しみのひとつです。
このSportsmanの魅力は、単に古い時計であることではありません。50年以上という時間によって文字盤に刻まれた色彩と質感が、当時の日常時計を現在では二つとない存在へと変えています。
