OMEGA De Ville Cushion Case Quartz 1977

The De Ville line has represented OMEGA's dress watch philosophy since the late 1960s, and by the mid-1970s had embraced the precision of quartz technology without abandoning its restrained elegance. This example is distinguished by its softly sculpted cushion-shaped case and warm champagne dial.

The gold-plated case measures 34mm across, excluding the crown, with a lug-to-lug span of 40mm that gives the watch a substantial yet balanced presence on the wrist. Its cushion silhouette, tapering smoothly from a faceted bezel toward the case back, is characteristic of Omega's design language from this period.

The champagne dial carries a fine brushed finish and is kept deliberately uncluttered, with slender applied baton markers and matching hands. A quickset date window sits at 3 o'clock, framed by the OMEGA logo, QUARTZ, and DE VILLE signatures in the maker's clean serif type.

The watch is powered by OMEGA's Caliber 1342, one of the brand's earliest in-house quartz movements, fitted with 7 jewels — technology that placed Omega among the first Swiss houses to embrace quartz without compromising the dress-watch proportions the De Ville line was known for.

Completing the watch is a black lizard-embossed aftermarket leather strap, fitted with a gold-tone pin buckle to match the case. At 20mm the lugs remain open to a strap of one's own choosing, fitting comfortably up to an 18.5cm wrist.
