The story
About this watch
Silver has captivated humanity since around 3000 BC. Revered across civilizations, its refinement techniques evolved uniquely in different cultures by the 9th century. Its chemical symbol “Ag” derives from the Latin Argentum, meaning “white and shining.” True to its name, silver possesses an exceptional reflectivity of approximately 98% in visible light—surpassing even platinum in brilliance.

Yet, silver also carries a delicate duality. It reacts easily with sulfur, meaning that while it can achieve one of the purest and brightest finishes when polished, it gradually transforms upon exposure to air—first into warm brown tones, and eventually into a deep, rich patina. This transformation mirrors the human condition itself, shaped by time and environment.

To encounter a timepiece that embodies the essence of silver so beautifully is something truly special.

JAEGER-LECOULTRE Ref. 9033
Crafted from solid silver, this piece expresses geometric elegance through its bezel design—structured yet refined. The radiant white sheen of silver contrasts with the depth of its black dial, creating a sense of quiet mystery and clarity.
Powering the watch is the legendary Caliber 818, introduced in 1959. A true icon among two-hand movements, it was later upgraded in 1992 to a high-beat frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, continuing to support Jaeger-LeCoultre for over three decades as one of its most enduring calibers.
