SEIKO SPIRIT Champagne Dial High Accuracy Quartz 1995

The Seiko Spirit line represented the brand's move into precision quartz dress watches during the 1990s, built around the High Accuracy Quartz technology reserved for Seiko's most refined models. This example is distinguished by a champagne dial with a fine woven texture, set within a slender tank-style case.

Its gold-plated case measures 26mm across, excluding the crown, with a lug-to-lug span of just 36mm that keeps the watch slim and close to the wrist. The faceted, stepped bezel and stainless steel case back reflect the restraint typical of Seiko's dress watches from this era.

The champagne dial carries a fine woven texture that shifts subtly with the light, framed by applied baton markers and a matching set of hands. SEIKO and SPIRIT sit above and below the center in the maker's clean serif type, with no date window or added text to disturb the layout.

At its heart is the Caliber 5E31, part of Seiko's High Accuracy Quartz series and rated to within 20 seconds a year, several times more precise than a standard quartz movement. Fitted with 3 jewels and no date function, it is precision distilled into the simplest possible mechanism.

Completing the watch is a 3rd party black leather strap with a crocodile-embossed finish, fitted with a gold-tone pin buckle to match the case. At 18mm the lugs remain open to a strap of one's own choosing, fitting comfortably up to a 19cm wrist.
