SEIKO Chronos Golden Dial 1980s

Introduced as Seiko's dress-watch line for the quartz era, the Chronos collection was built around slim cases and restrained dials intended for formal wear. This example is distinguished by its faceted two-tone case and a warm gold dial that shifts between amber and brass as the light moves across it.

The case measures 26.2mm across excluding the crown and 34mm from lug to lug, a compact rectangular form with cut corners that give it an almost octagonal silhouette. Brushed stainless steel surfaces are framed by a gold-tone stepped bezel, and the absence of unnecessary ornamentation allows the dial to take center stage.

The dial is finished in a deep gold tone, with applied baton markers and slim gold hands that read cleanly against it. A fine minute track runs along the perimeter, and the Chronos signature sits quietly below the center without crowding the layout.

Powered by Seiko's Cal. 7431 quartz movement, the watch keeps time without the daily attention a mechanical caliber demands.

Completing the watch is its original SEIKO stainless steel bracelet, which carries the lines of the case through to the clasp without interruption. It fits a wrist of up to 18cm, and the 18mm lug width allows a strap of the wearer's choosing.
